'Corruption has been institutionalised in West Bengal': JP Nadda targets Trinamool Congress govt

Kolkata/IBNS: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday cornered the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal stating corruption has been institutionalised in the state.

"In West Bengal, administration has been politicised and politics has been made corrupt. It is clear that corruption has been institutionalised in West Bengal," Nadda in a press conference said.

"In West Bengal, corruption, cut money, appeasement politics are taking place in the government," the BJP leader said.

Nadda, whose convoy was attacked during his last visit to the poll-bound state, on Saturday visited Bardhaman and held a massive roadshow.

"The people of Bengal are ready to welcome PM Modi and want to get rid of the problems Mamata Didi has forced them into. From politicization of administration to organized corruption to criminalization of politics, the common person of Bengal is pained," Nadda attacked the Mamata Banerjee government from the roadshow.

At a time his government at the Centre is facing the massive protests by the farmers, Nadda hit out at the Trinamool government for not allowing the central schemes for the farmers, besides highlighting the works the Narendra Modi government did for the peasants.

"Since coming to power, the Modi govt has increased the budget for agriculture and farmers by six times. In 2013-14, the budget for agriculture was only Rs 22,000 crore. Today, it stands at Rs 1,34,000 crore," he said.

Nadda added, "Nearly 70,000 families have not got the benefits of PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi in Bengal. Mamata Ji is now writing letters to the PM, now that the elections are approaching. We will form the government in Bengal and will help our farmers in Bengal."
