Dayashankar Singh arrested in Bihar on Friday

Lucknow/Buxar, Jul 29 (IBNS): Expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Singh has been arrested in Buxar, Bihar, on Friday, according to media reports.

He was on the run for nearly a week after his derogatory comment about Bahujan Samaj Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minsiter, Mayawati, who is also seen as a champion of the Dalit community.

On Thursday, Dayashankar Singh failed to get a stay on his arrest from Allahabad High Court.

Dayashankar Singh,BJP's former vice-president in Uttar Pradesh used abusive language on July 20 while commenting on Mayawati, the former Uttar Pradesh chief and Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) chief.

The BJP apologised and expelled Dayashankar Singh.
