Delhi govt to repair 1260 km of roads: Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Stating that the roads of Delhi should be excellent, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the city government has made a mega plan to repair roads under which 1260 km of roads will be repaired.
Addressing the mediapersons, Kejriwal said, 'Delhi is the capital of the country and it is very important that the roads of Delhi are excellent. For the people of Delhi, for the traffic of Delhi and for those coming from abroad, there should be excellent roads.'
'PWD of Delhi government covers 1260 km of roads. Right now the rains are over, so the government has built a mega plan to repair the roads. 1260 km of roads will be repaired at war footing,' he said.
'All our MLAs will travel 25 kms with the team of PWD engineers and report it if they find a pit on the road. Then the Delhi government will work to fix it,' Mr Kejriwal said.
'All our MLAs will physically audit with the PWD engineers where there are pits on the roads of Delhi.
There can be three types of shortages--Pits, bumpy roads and if there is work of any department going on there,' he said.
'Wherever excavation, pipeline work is going on, repair work will be done only after the completion of that work, but where there is a pit, that road will be repaired immediately,' he added.
Regarding the single use plastic scheme, Kejriwal said that it is being considered.
