Delhi Police question 15-year old boy who discussed raping girls in Bois Locker Room Instagram chat group

New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi Police on Monday questioned a 15-year old school boy who along with several others of the same age group discussed raping girls in Bois Locket Room chat group on Instagram, media reports said.

The incident came to light after some girls on social media platforms made the screenshots of the Instagram group chat public on Saturday drawing strong reactions on online platforms.

The police on Monday took suo motu cognisance of the social media posts.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, cyber crime, Anyesh Roy, said as quoted by Hindustan Times, "No one has come forward with a complaint so far. We have taken suo motu cognisance of the social media posts. We are registering a case under the Information Technology (IT) Act and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code."

Initial probe has found out around 30 members, all including male and female belonging to the same school, were in the group with some of them involved in the conversations.

The Instagram group, where discussions were held on female anatomy besides sharing morphed pictures of female classmates, was later deleted.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued notice to both Instagram and police asking for an immediate arrest of the guilty and subsequent investigation.

DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal said, "The incident is frightening and shocking."
