Chennai/IBNS: DMK chief MK Stalin's son-in-law Sabareesan was on Friday raided by Income Tax officials at Chennai in poll-bound Tamil Nadu, media reports said.

The raids took place at four places in Chennai owned by Sabareesan, who is believed to be a strategist of Stalin's core team.

Tax department said there were inputs of movement of cash related to the election campaign, NDTV reported.

In support of Sabareesan, DMK leaders and supporters had gathered outside his house.

In a strong reaction to the raids, Stalin said, "I am MK Stalin. I have seen MISA itself," referring to the controversial law used against him by the then Congress government.

The raids occurred a day after Stalin's son Udhayanidhi, while speaking at a rally in Coimbatore, questioned the "exponential rise" in the wealth of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's son Jay Shah.

The poll results in the state will be declared on May 2.
