Dr Rajesh Kumar appointed new Chief Secretary of Manipur

Imphal/IBNS: Dr Rajesh Kumar was appointed the new Chief Secretary of  Manipur on Saturday.

The 1988-batch IAS officer is currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) of the state.

In an order, Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla appointed  Dr Rajesh Kumar as the Chief Secretary of Manipur with immediate effect.

Various organizations including few student organizations of Manipur had demanded appointment of native IAS officers to the topmost posts of the state.

Former Chief Secretary Suresh Babu retired on July 31.

Suresh Babu served the position since 2018.
