Drugs worth Rs 2.24 crore seized in Mizoram's Champhai

Champhai: Mizoram police on Tuesday arrested four drug peddlers, including two Myanmar nationals, and recovered contraband drugs worth Rs 2.24 crore in Mizoram's Champhai district.

Based on secret information, Champhai district police launched an operation at Dungtlang Police Check Gate and recovered seized 447.88 grams of heroin, valued approximately Rs 2.24 crore in international market from the illegal possession of four persons.

The police team arrested all four persons identified as Isak Lalruatsanga (24) of Phunchawng, Melruk, Aizawl, Hrangkapthianga (22) of Rallang, Falam District, Myanmar, Lalhretluanga (28) of Phunchawng, Aizawl and Chunglianmang (36) of Helel, Falam District, Myanmar.

Further investigation is in progress.
