EAM S Jaishankar holds talks with FMs of France, Oman, Singapore, Bangladesh

New Delhi: Continuing his bilateral meetings with visiting foreign ministers, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday held talks with Catherine Colonna of France, Badr Albusaidi of Oman, Vivian Balakrishnan of Singapore, and Abdul Momen of Bangladesh.

While meeting his French counterpart, the EAM tweeted that the two sides agreed to coordinate more closely on global and multilateral issues, and also reviewed the bilateral relationship.

“Great meeting with FM @MinColonna of France," he said.

“Appreciated her support for our G20 Presidency," he said.

“Agreed to coordinate more closely on global and multilateral issues. Also reviewed our bilateral relationship,” he said.

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, in a tweet, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might visit France soon at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron to mark the celebrations of 25 years of their unique strategic partnership.

“As France and #India will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their unique Strategic partnership, Prime minister @narendramodi might visit #France soon at the invitation of President @EmmanuelMacron,” she said in a tweet.

EAM Jaishankar, on his meeting with his Singapore counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan, said the two had a good exchange of views on their ever-strengthening cooperation and more.

“Always a pleasure to meet FM @VivianBala of Singapore.

“A good exchange on our ever strengthening cooperation and more. Much done and lots of possibilities in a fast changing world.”

On the meeting with Oman Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, he posted that their bilateral cooperation is going from strength to strength.

“A warm meeting with FM @badralbusaidi of Oman this evening. Value his #G20FMM and #RaisinaDialogue2023 participation.

“Our bilateral cooperation is growing from strength to strength.”

The Omani Foreign Minister in a tweet said that the two ministers exchanged views on the Oman-India Strategic relations.

“Met today with my dear friend our host @DrSJaishankar, we exchanged views on the Oman-India Strategic relations and the importance of multilateral cooperation and promoting values of inclusivity and dialogue.”

On his meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Abdul Momen, EAM tweeted:

“So nice to meet FM Dr. Abdul Momen of Bangladesh on #G20FMM and #RaisinaDialogue2023 sidelines.

“Neighbourhood First, always.”

Separately, EAM Jaishankar passed on the IBSA – India, Brazil, South Africa – Handover Report to chair Brazil.

“Happy to pass on the IBSA Handover Report 2023 to chair Brazil today afternoon. Best wishes to colleague Mauro Vieira.

“Our IBSA partnership will continue to work for the concerns of the Global South.”
