EC restores two-leaf party symbol to 'united' AIADMK

| @indiablooms | Nov 23, 2017, at 06:32 pm

Chennai/New Delhi, Nov 23 (IBNS): The Election Commission (EC) has restored the two-leaf symbol to the unified AIADMK party, according to media reports on Thursday.

The EC had frozen the symbols after O Panneerselvam had walked out of the party, following a feud after the death of former party chief and TN chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

However, the restoration of the popular symbol to the 'unified' AIADMK is being seen as a setback for the Sasikala camp, especially her nephew  TTV Dhinakaran, who had tried hard to gain the right to the symbol.

The poll panel said that Dinakaran did not have the party's support, reported NDTV.
