New Delhi/UNI: Congratulating newly-elected BJP president J P Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said electoral challenge is no big thing, but 'we have to live up to people's expectations'.

"Our problem is not due to our lapses but because people are with us. When we were in opposition....we faced challenges ...in coming days there will be more challenges. Electoral challenge is no big thing...but we have to live up to people's expectations," he said addressing party workers at party headquarters here.

"Nadda Ji's leadership will give us new energy, hope, and inspiration. We must ensure that he is successful. Whatever he asks for, we must deliver. As a party worker, we must walk with our core values in the journey ahead with love for our motherland," Modi said

BJP is in power not as a temporary phenomena, the Prime Minister said here and maintained that 'we are here for a long time.'

Modi said Nadda is a close friend and 'we have moved on bikes'.

He said Amit Shah's stint will be remembered for long.

A large number of BJP supporters from Himachal Pradesh were present at the party headquarters here.

Modi said Nadda is as much of Himachal as much of Bihar.

Speaking on the occasion Nadda said, "A worker like me coming from a village and becoming the National President is the specialty of the BJP."
