New Delhi, Sep 29 (IBNS): An encounter between Indian forces and terrorists have been reported from the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, according to media reports.

Terrorists are believed to be hiding in the forests, media reported.

On Thursday early morning, Indian Army concluded a surgical attack about two km inside the Line of Control on the India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir and successfully managed to take out several launch pads from where terrorists foray into India.

Meanwhile, the Border Security Force has cancelled the Beating Retreat ceremony at the Wagah border in Punjab on Thursday.

Villages bordering Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in Punjab have been evacuated as a precautionary measure, media reported.

The Indian Army has said that there are no plans to continue with the surgical attacks.
