Exit polls predict victory for Grand Alliance in Bihar; RJD to emerge as largest party

Patna/IBNS: The crucial Bihar Assembly elections ended today and all eyes are now set on November 10 when results will be declared. However, both Times Now-C Voter Exit Poll and the Republic Jan Ki Baat Exit Polls have predicted the victory of RJD-Congress-Left 'Mahagathbandhan over the incumbent JDU-BJP-HAM-VIP (NDA) alliance. According to the exit polls RJD will emerge as the largest party.

The Bihar Assembly polls were conducted in three phases for a total of 243 seats; the first for 71 seats on 28 October 2020, the second for 94 seats on November 3 and the third for the remaining 78 will be on November 7.

Out of the 243 seats, Grand Alliance will bag 120 seats while NDA will win 116 seats, the exit polls predicted.

According to the Times Now C Voter exit poll, out of the 120 seats predicted for the Grand Alliance, RJD will win 85 seats, Congress 25 and Left parties 10 seats. In the NDA's 116 seats, the BJP is expected to win 70, JDU 42, HAM ad VIP two seats each.

The UPA is projected to win 120 seats with 36.3% vote share while the NDA will trail with 116 seats with a larger vote share of 37.7 per cent. Here are the party-wise vote share projections: NDA: 37.7% JD(U): 15.1% BJP: 20.4% HAM: 1% VIP: 1.2% UPA: 36.3% RJD: 22.9% INC: 9.4% Left: 4% Others: 17.5% LJP: 8.5%

Republic TV Exit Poll has also put Mahagatbandhan or Grand Alliance on an advantageous position.

The BJP-led NDA is expected to win anywhere between 91-117 seats in Bihar, while the RJD and Congress-led Grand Alliance could secure 118-138 seats. The LJP is expected to win 5-8 seats, Republic Jan Ki Baat Exit Polls predicted.

According to it, party-wise projections stand as such - RJD (79-91 seats), Congress (24-30 seats), Left (15-17 seats), BJP (60-75 seats), JDU (31-42 seats). While AIMIM is projected to win one seat, HAM and VIP are set to not win a single seat.

The Mahagathbandhan is projected to win 40-43% of the votes, while NDA is projected to win 37-39% of the votes. LJP is projected to win 7-9% of the votes, while others are projected to win 8-11% of the votes.

Its party wise vote-share projection is RJD (24-26%), Congress (8-9%), Left (6.5 -8%), BJP (18-20%), JDU (15 -16%), HAM (1.5-2%), VIP (2%).

The CNN News 18 Exit Poll has also projected a landslide victory for the Mahagathbandhan with 125 seats while the NDA is projected to win 110 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections 2020.
