External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar cancels meet with US lawmakers over 'unfair' criticism on Kashmir
New Delhi/IBNS: External Affiars Minister S Jaishankar cancelled a meeting with US lawmakers,including Congresswoman Pramila Jaypal, during the ongoing 2+2 dialogoue, saying that her report on Kashmir was anunfair caharecterization of the situation in ground.
The minister stated that he had no interest in meeting Jaypal said, after media reported that he had abruptly cancelled the meeting.

According to a Washinton Post report, the meeting was cancelled after the lawmakers refused to exclude Jaypal from the meeting.
"The Indian officials informed the committee that Jaishankar would not meet with the lawmakers if the group included Jayapal. Engel refused, and the Indians pulled out," Jayapal was quoted as saying by The Washington Post.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also shared India's perspective on Citizenship Amendment Act with the leadership of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, among discussions on other matters of bilateral cooperation.
MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar sated that the topic was not discussed during the Minister's meeting on bilateral issues with Pompeo.
"I do not think any external agency has any locus standi to comment on a matter which is completely internal to India," Kumar was quoted as sayinhg by India Today.
