Firefighters extinguish massive blaze in Hyderabad hospital; avert major tragedy

Hyderabad: A major fire erupted at Ankura Hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday, media reports said.

The hospital administration said the fire was caused by a short circuit in the outdoor lights positioned on the terrace, India Today reported.

Around 15 patients were in the hospital at the time and they have been relocated to another facility, a fire department official said, according to the report.

The hospital informed the fire department, which rushed to the spot and swiftly brought the blaze under control, as confirmed by the hospital.

No casualties were reported in the incident, according to fire department officials.

The hospital administration said it is taking precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of both staff and patients, the said.
