Guwahati, July 19 (IBNS) : Former Assam minister and present Congress MLA Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has denied any involvement into the alleged bribery case involving a US firm Louis Berger International Inc to win contract for a water supply project in Guwahati.

During a press conference, the Congress MLA of Jalukbari constituency said that he was never involved in the alleged bribery case.

“ Names of no minister from Assam has been mention as connected to the bribery case involving  the US firm in the chargesheet filed in the US court,” Dr Sarma said.

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was then minister of Guwahati Development department when the US firm won contract for a water supply project in Guwahati under Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).
