Giriraj Singh defeats Kanhaiya Kumar by 4.20 lakh votes' margin in Begusarai

Begusarai, May 23 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh on Thursday defeated fireband CPI candidate Kanhaiya Kumar from the Begusarai seat in Bihar by a margin of over four lakh votes.

Singh managed to retain his Begusarai seat for the party.

Kanhaiya, who is a former student leader from Jawaharlal Nehru University, made his Lok Sabha polls debut this year.

The constituency voted on Apr 23.

It is one of the crucial Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.

Bhola Singh of the BJP had won from the seat in 2014.
