'Going to tell a secret'...PM Modi reveals KCR's party wanted to join NDA, 'but I refused'

Nizamabad/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at a public rally here on Tuesday evening dropped a bombshell stating that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao came to New Delhi and told him that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) wanted to join the BJP-led NDA at the Centre but he (PM Modi) turned down his proposal.

PM Modi said KCR is maintaining distance with him after he told him that 'we won't cheat people of Telangana by having a BJP-BRS alliance.

"There's a reason KCR doesn't look me in the eye. I did not agree to KCR’s request for him to join the NDA in exchange for BJP's support in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. There's no question of supporting BRS," he said.

"I also warned the Chief Minister against passing the baton to his son KTR, who is a Minister in his Cabinet. After all, we are a democracy, not a monarchy," the PM said, whose party has always banked on anti-dynasty politics.

PM Modi said KCR came to the National Capital after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Election and met him and said he needed BJP support as no one secured a majority. In the election, BJP won 48 wards, BRS 56 wards out of the total 150 wards and no one got a majority.

He said the BJP will not join hands with BRS and it will sit in the opposition in the Corporation.

The PM went on to say that KCR used to receive him at airports when he paid a visit to Hyderabad and grant him courtesy and respect but he stopped doing so after he was not allowed to join the NDA.

He appealed to mothers and sisters to bless the BJP and vote for the lotus symbol in the Assembly election to be held in a couple of months from now.

He attacked BRS by saying it is indulging in corruption.

The Prime Minister alleged that BRS helped Congress to win in Karnataka, and now the grand old party would return the favour in poll-bound Telangana.

In a scathing attack on the Congress, PM Modi said, "My sisters from Telangana have been part of a big revolution, created history. A few days ago the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam bill was passed in Parliament. Congress and its INDIA alliance - this 'ghamandiya' alliance- had stalled this bill for the last 30 years."

"Due to the collective power of women, this alliance has to support the passing of this bill," he added.
