Govt introduces bill to merge union territories Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli

New Delhi/IBNS: The Centre on Tuesday introduced the bill to merge the union territories of Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The bill was introduced in the Parliament by Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy.

The government has proposed the bill nearly three months after it bifurcated state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating article 370.
