I was offered J&K CM's post thrice by BJP: Ex-PDP leader

Srinagar, Dec 20 (IBNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday lambasted those who alleged him of quitting PDP because he was not rehabilitated as minister and declared that he was thrice offered the Chief Minister's post in the past two years.

Karra said that he had rejected the post because his conscience and conviction did not allow him to make  any compromise with the “fascist forces.”

He was talking to media, months after he resigned from his post to register his protest against the civilian killings at the hands of the security forces during the unrest that followed the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen commander Burhan Wani in July this year.

Rubbishing the charges that he was after ministership in the coalition government and when he was denied the same, he quit , Karra asked , whether being Chief Minister is more important or a minister.

"I was offered tons of rupees by the BJP’s top brass to become the chief  minister. Once it was during  Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s life time and  twice after his death in January this year. I  rejected the offer for  by conviction I am against the BJP and RSS,” Karra claimed.

Asked about his future plans, Karra said , “I am thinking of my options."

Speculations in the media suggests that he could launch a new party or join the Congress.
