IAF MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashes in Punjab, pilot dies

Moga: An Indian Air Force  MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed close to Moga region in Punjab on Thursday which left the pilot dead.

The pilot was identified as Abhinav Choudhary.

IAF tweeted: "There was an aircraft accident last night involving a Bison aircraft of IAF in the western sector. The pilot, Sqn Ldr Abhinav Choudhary, sustained fatal injuries. IAF condoles the tragic loss and stands firmly with the bereaved family."

The force said a court of inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

The IAF aircraft was on a routine training sortie when the mishap occurred, reports UNI
