New Delhi, May 22 (IBNS): To generate public awareness and showcase the glorious image of the Indian Air Force, a performance of the Air Warriors Synchronised Drill Team and Symphony Orchestra is planned to be held at India Gate on Saturday.

Drill being an integral part of Military Ethos, the Air Warrior Drill team (AWDT) was conceived to project the dynamic and vibrant image of the IAF.

It is the first of its kind among all Military and Para- Military Forces in India as it performs unique advanced drill movements with rifles fixed with live bayonets.

The duration of the display by AWDT varies from 13-14 minutes and during the display the team performs advanced rifle drill movements.

The team uses 4 Mk 1 (.303) rifles which measures 44.75” and  with the attachment of bayonet  weights about 9 lbs 10 Ozs (5.5kgs). The  AWDT has emerged as the pride of the Indian Air Force and has been complimented as the “Ground Ambassador of IAF”. The motto of the team is ‘Drill to thrill’

Playing live especially for the public, a 30 member Indian Air Force Brass & Jazz band would enthral audiences taking them on a melodious ride with an eclectic mix of delightful martial music and soulful numbers including arrangements of Symphonies, overtones and concertos as well as other forms of contemporary music.
