Bengaluru, Jan 21 (IBNS) Police have arrested a person in connection with the murder an IBM employee, which took place earlier this week.

The body of Kusum Singla, 31, was found in her flat in south-east Bengaluru on Tuesday by her flatmate after she returned from work. She had been strangled with the cord of a laptop, reports said.

Sukhbir Singh was arrested from Haryana early on Thursday morning morning for the murder, reports quoted police as saying,.

Sukhbir Singh and  Singla had known each other only on social media.

According to police, Singla had invited him home on Tuesday, but when he visited, he wanted to borrow money from her.

. Police suspect that when she refused to pay, the two had a fight and Sukhbir strangled her.

Police said the assailant was tracked through social media, since the CCTV footage found from the apartment was unclear.
