Illegal drugs seized in Assam’s Karimganj

Guwahati, June 6 (IBNS): Assam Police have a seized huge quantity of illegal drugs and arrested a person in Karimganj district this morning.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, the Karimganj district police had launched operation and stopped a vehicle bearing registration number ML-04A-8404 at a mobile checkpoint.

During search, police had recovered 9,000 illegal drugs tablets weighing about 907 grams from the vehicle.

The market value of the seized illegal drugs is estimated about Rs 27 lakh.

Police had also arrested a person named Abdul Kadir.

“Acting on a tip-off, we had launched operation against illegal drugs and stopped a vehicle bearing registration number ML-04A-8404 and during search we had recovered 9000 numbers of illegal drugs tablets weighing about 907 grams from the vehicle. We had also arrested a person named Abdul Kadir, who carried the drugs,” a police officer said.
