IMCT chief deployed to Kolkata writes to Bengal govt, seeks detailed report of COVID-19 situation
Kolkata/IBNS: The chief of the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) deployed to Kolkata on Wednesday sent a letter to West Bengal Chief Secretary Rajiva Sinha, seeking a detailed report on the present COVID-19 situation in the state as well as Bengal's preparedness to combat Novel Coronavirus.
Apurva Chandra, leader of the Central team deployed to West Bengal by the MHA to make ground level assessment of COVID-19 situation in the state, has asked the state government a set of questions relating to COVID-19 situation before the team starts it visits to some hotspot zones in south Bengal.
IMCT chief has also asked the state government to provide them adequate logistic support as the Central team will visit some hotspots, Covid hospitals, quarantine centres and market places in Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas and East Medinipur districts.

Since the MHA deployed two IMCTs in West Bengal for on-spot assessment of COVID-19 situation in north and south Bengal, the country has been witnessing a huge face-off between the state and the Centre.
