India and Malaysia to work together to combat terrorism

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 23 (IBNS) Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak said on Monday that India and Malaysia will work together to combat terrorism and climate change.

The Malaysian PM said, "We will work together to combat terrorism and on climate change."

Razak said that he was pleased with the bilateral ties and hopes that India's relation with Malaysia will grow stronger.

"Very pleased with our discussions. Bilateral ties will get deeper and stronger."

His Indian counterpart Narendra Modi lauded Malaysia for hosting him in the ASEAN Summit 2015 and said, "Appreciate your gesture of hosting me in the midst of the ASEAN and East Asia Summit."

Modi said that both the countries share a very old connection and he also commended the people of Malaysia.

"Commend the resolve and resilience of people of Malaysia. India's links with Malaysia are very old."

Both the countries are looking to strengthen their security for combating terror.

Modi said, "We will work with renewed vigour to raise momentum of our partnership. We will continue to deepen security cooperation."

India and Malaysia will also work closely together curbing down cyber crime, Modi said.

"We will make defence cooperation stronger. Our agreements on cyber security are very important."

Lauding Malaysia's competence in infrastructure, Modi said that the two countries are looking to have stronger bonds in terms of investments.

"Our trade and investment relations can be scaled up significantly. Malaysia's competence in infrastructure is well known."

Modi also said that he will pay special attention to the people and is looking forward to having a stronger cultural ties.

"We will play special emphasis on cultural and people to people ties."

The Malaysian Prime Minister also hailed Narendra Modi, calling him a 'Man of Action'.
