India condemns terror attack on Chinese consulate in Pakistan
New Delhi, Nov 23 (IBNS) : India on Friday "strongly condemned" the terrorist attack on the #ChineseConsulate in #Karachi on Friday morning in which two policemen were killed and one security guard was injured.
"We condole the loss of lives in this dastardly attack. There can be no justification whatsoever for any act of terrorism," a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said.
India said such acts only strengthens the resolve to combat terrorism.
"There can be no justification whatsoever for any act of terrorism. The perpetrators of this heinous act should be brought to justice expeditiously. Such terrorist attacks only strengthens the resolve of the international community to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,"the statement said.
Four gunmen tried to enter the Consulate but they were stopped by the security guards.In an exchange of fire, three attackers were killed by police.
The area has been cordoned off and a heavy police have been deployed.
A separatist group of Balochistan, Pakistan's poorest province, claimed the attack.
All the staff inside the consulate are reportedly safe.
China, a neighbouring country of Pakistan, is a close ally of the country. China also invests money in the infrastructural projects of Pakistan.
Balochistan is the centre of China's major investment projects.
