Washington: President Donald Trump on Tuesday said India is doing the second highest number of COVID-19 testing in the world after the US.

He said the US is leading the world in testing.

"We’re leading the world.  And I think the second country at 12 million.  We’re — we’re going to be over 50 million tests.  Second country is India with 12 million," he said during a press conference.

"Then you have 7 million, 6 million, and 4 million.  I think that we are doing a tremendous amount of testing," he said.

"But if the — if the doctors and the professionals feel that even though we’re at a level that nobody ever dreamt possible, that they would like to do more, I’m okay with it," the president said.
