Indian army jawan saves woman from drowning in Assam’s Barpeta

Guwahati/IBNS: An Indian Army jawan rescued a woman from drowning in Assam’s Barpeta district on Sunday.

The incident took place at Patbausi area where a woman jumped into the Nakhanda river.

When some locals noticed it, they immediately informed the police and the nearby army camp.

A team of Indian army immediately reached the area and a jawan named Ashok Kumar jumped into the river saving the life of the woman.

Another Indian army jawan Layak Ram also helped his colleague to rescue the woman.

Some locals captured the entire rescue operation on their mobile phones.
