Indian national abducted by militants in Yemen: Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, Mar 5 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said an Indian national has been abducted by militants in Yemen.

The Indian national has been identified as Father Tom Uzhunnalil

"Father Tom Uzhunnalil - an Indian national has been abducted by terrorists in Yemen," Swaraj tweeted.

She said Indian camp office in Djibouti is trying to ascertain the whereabouts of Father Tom Uzhunnalil so that he can be freed.

"We closed Indian Embassy in Yemen after Operation RAHAT was over. However, our Camp office in Djibouti is trying to ascertain the whereabouts of Father Tom Uzhunnalil so that we can secure his release," Swaraj tweeted.
