Israeli Consul General Kobbi Shoshani on Monday visited the Shree Ram Mandir in Mumbai’s Wadala and said he hopes to visit the newly constructed temple dedicated to the Hindi deity in Ayodhya town soon.

"Looking forward to visit Ayodhya very soon. For today I visited historic Shree Ram Mandir in Wadala, Mumbai," he posted on X.

He also wrote 'Jai Shree Ram' in the X post in Hindi.

He visited the temple on a day when the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya town of Uttar Pradesh was held.

PM Narendra Modi participated in the event.

Sharing his sentiments on the significance of the historic site and occasion, Shoshani told ANI that he knows the story around the Ram Mandir ‘quite well’.

“Very emotional. I felt the ambience two-three days ago… I know the story around the Ram Mandir quite well. I visited Ayodhya several times before. It’s a beautiful place. The visit to the temple here is my humble demonstration of respect for Indian culture and tradition. I wanted to be in Ayodhya today but I am happy to be among the very nice people of Mumbai,” he told the Indian news agency.
