Jammu and Kashmir: Encounter ensues b/w SFs & militants in Pulwama
Srinagar/UNI: An encounter ensued between militants and security forces during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Friday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
He said a joint CASO was launched by troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF at village Babhoora in Pulwama following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
However, during the searches militants hiding there opened fire, he said, adding security forces also retaliated ensuing in an encounter.
Additional security forces have been rushed to further tighten the cordon, he said, adding further details are awaited.
