Jammu and Kashmir: Extension wall of house of militant demolished in Anantnag

Srinagar: An extension wall of the house of a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant believed to be based in Pakistan allegedly built on government land in the Liver Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district was demolished by authorities on Saturday, officials said.

He said the extension wall of the house of Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Amir Khan, Deputy Chairman of United Jihad Council, who crossed over to Pakistan in the early 90’s and is operating from there, had allegedly encroached on a piece of land in Liver was demolished by the authorities early Saturday.

He said Khan, based in Pakistan was originally from liver village in Anantnag district. "He (Khan) had encroached 3 Marla public land on “gun point”," the officer said, adding that today the encroachment was removed by the authorities.

On December 10, authorities in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir demolished the house of top Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Ashiq Nengroo at Hanjan Rajpora, who is believed to be based in Pakistan.

Earlier this year, Nengroo was declared as a "designated terrorist" under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act by the Union government.
