Four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, were killed during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda region on Monday, media reports said.

The Indian Army said a joint operation by the army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched in Doda based on specific information on the presence of suspected terrorists.

"Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by #IndianArmy and JKP was in progress in General area North of #Doda," White Knight Corps posted on X.

"Contact with terrorists was established tonight at about 2100h in which heavy firefight ensued. Initial reports suggest injuries to our bravehearts," the post said.

Army said additional troops were sent to the site.

Operation is currently going on.
