Srinagar/UNI: The Islamic State (IS) terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack on a traffic policeman in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Amaq News Agency of Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

A video clip of the attack was also released by Amaq.

The claim could not be independently verified.

On Wednesday evening, an unarmed traffic policeman on duty at Rajouri Kadal was fired upon with a pistol by a militant.

The traffic policeman was wounded in the attack.

The attacker shouts 'Allahu Akbar' (God is greatest)" while firing.

In October, ISIS also claimed responsibility for killing a street vendor from Bihar in old Srinagar area.
