Jammu and Kashmir LG Sinha apportions manpower between J&K, Ladakh UTs

Jammu: The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Monday apportioned the manpower between the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh.

As a part of apportionment, in exercise of powers under Section 89 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, 11189 employees of 33 departments have been apportioned to the Union Territory of Ladakh.

"The remaining employees of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir serving on substantive basis, excluding those figuring in the Annexure to this order are hereby apportioned to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir,” read an order issued by GAD Commissioner referring to the 389 pages annexure of 11189 employees.

Any variation in the details/credentials of employees apportioned to Union Territory of Ladakh would be rectified after considering original /verified service records by the concerned Controlling Authorities, with approval of the competent authority, he maintained.

GAD Commissioner directed that the employees already serving in any of the successor Union Territories to “which they have been apportioned,” would continue to serve in the respective Union territory viz. Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union territory of Ladakh.

The employees apportioned to Union territory of Ladakh and continuing their service in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir will be relieved by the concerned Administrative Departments immediately.

“The employees apportioned to the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and continuing their service in the Union Territory of Ladakh shall continue to do so, till further orders.Their repatriation shall be considered separately, on case to case basis,” GAD Commissioner stated.

The members of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, Jammu and Kashmir Police (Gazetted) Service and Jammu and Kashmir Forest (Gazetted) Service, employees of PSUs, Corporations and other autonomous bodies, which would be considered in terms of Section 92 of the J&K Reorganization Act, 2019 and 3369 employees referred by the Union Territory of Ladakh, requiring further verification of credentials and recommendations from the concerned administrative departments have not been included in the instant apportionment process, requiring further consideration.
