A police spokesperson said police at a checkpoint established at Goripora Darpora noticed suspicious movement of two people, who tried to flee the spot when asked to stop.

However, he said the police party at the checkpoint chased them and apprehended one person, identified as Ghulam Hussain Gojar Lohar, a resident of Devar Lolab Kupwara though the other accused managed to escape from the spot.

“A case FIR No. 57/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bomai and investigation into the matter has been initiated,” he added.
