Jammu and Kashmir: Two terrorists killed during encounter with security forces in Kulgam

Srinagar: Two terrorists have been killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, police said on Saturday.

The identities of the killed terrorists are not known yet.

" #KulgamEncounterUpdate: 02 #unidentified #terrorists killed. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice  ," Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

A police spokesperson said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), CRPF and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir launched a CASO at village Chingam, Kulgam, in the wee hours following a tip off about the presence of militants.

However, after sealing all exit points when the security forces launched a house-to-house searches early this morning, militants hiding there opened fire.

The fire was returned ensuing in an encounter he said adding two unidentified militants were so far killed.

The operation was going on when the reports last came in, he said.

During an encounter in Sugan Zainapora area of Shopian district at least three terrorists were killed on Oct 7.
