Jammu: Police produces chargesheet against two LeT aides in Reasi militancy case

Jammu/UNI: Police on Sunday said that chargesheet has been produced against two aides of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist outfit in connection with militancy case in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Shailendra Singh said in January this year, Mahore Police was alerted regarding revival of terrorism following which two persons were zeroed.

Detained persons Mohammad Yousaf of Dewal and Mohammad Ashraf of Lar, Tehsil Mahore were booked for unlawful activities and under arms act, said the officer.

The duo during interrogation disclosed their links with LeT terrorist Talib Hussain in Pakistan who has crossed over to PoK from Mahore and they both were in touch with him through WhatsApp calls and messages.

"On their disclosure, a big cache of arms and ammunition comprising of Chinese Pistols with magazines, pistol cartridges and live Chinese grenades were recovered from their possession which they had concealed in a hideout," said the SSP.

He said the accused were planning and working upon to revive militancy and carry out a major attack in Jammu Zone.

"After completing all aspects of investigation including expert opinion of Forensic Science Laboratory and complying legal procedures, case was approved and then sent for accord of Government Sanction from Home Department," he said.
