Japan PM Shinzo Abe arrives in India, Modi welcomes
"Welcome to India @AbeShinzo. Your visit will provide new strength and vigour to India-Japan ties," Modi tweeted.
"India is all set to welcome its great friend & a phenomenal leader, PM @AbeShinzo. His visit will further deepen India-Japan relations," he said.
Abe was received by Union Minister Jayant Sinha.
"The visit of Prime Minister Abe is for the Annual Summit meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the last Summit Meeting held in Tokyo, the two Prime Ministers had agreed to elevate the relationship to ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’," MEA had earlier said in a statement.
