New Delhi, Mar 2 (IBNS): Members of the Jat community from five states protested at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday to push their demand for quota in state jobs and educational institutions, according to media reports.

As protesters from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Punjab gathered to protest, traffic along the roads leading to the venue were thrown out of gear.

The protesters have been demanding reservations for the community in government jobs and educational institutions, media reported.

A similar agitation in Haryana last year had led to the death of 30 people and damage to property worth crores.
