New Delhi/IBNS: Lyricist Javed Akhtar and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar have slammed in their own ways the Delhi Police for filing a First Information Report (FIR) against Jawaharlal University Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh for allegedly vandalising the university's server room on last Saturday.

Mocking the Delhi Police, Akhtar tweeted, "The FIR against the president of JNUSU is totally understandable . How dare she stop a nationalist , desh Premi iron rod with her head . These anti nationals don’t even let our poor goons swing a lathi properly . They always put their bodies there . I know they love to get hurt."

Kanhaiya, a former JNUSU president, tweeted, "More Power to you Comrade Aishe See you in the Public Meeting at Sabarmati T-Point at 4 pm today if this coward and liar government doesn’t arrest you on false and fabricated charges by then. If they do, then we are ready to fight back."

The FIR has been filed against Aishe and 19 others for allegedly vandalising the university server room and attacking security guards on Jan 4 while protesting against the fee-hike.

The alleged incident took place a day before a huge number of masked men carrying rods, sledgehammers barged into the campus, girls' hostel of the university, vandalised the institution, attacked students including Aishe and a professor.

The university officials have claimed the technical staff had accessed the Communication and Information premises on Saturday morning after the alleged vandalism.

After the staff got the servers back online, the attackers had allegedly re-entered the room at around 1 pm and damaged them again.

Denying the claim, the JNU students said the university administration used the "masked" security guards to carry out the vandalism.
