Jayalalithaa sworn in as TN Chief Minister for sixth time
Her swearing-in ceremony took place at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium in Chennai.
Twenty-eight other ministers from the AIADMK took mass oath shortly after Jayalalithaa.
Her first term was between 1991-96, second 2001-06 and third 2011-16.
For nearly six months, starting September 2001 she was out of office as she was unseated by Supreme Court in connection with the TANSI case.
She remained out of office again between September 29, 2014 and May 22, 2015 after she was disqualified as a legislator following her conviction in a graft case by a trial court in Bengaluru.
After the trial court verdict was set aside by Karnataka High Court, she was sworn in as chief minister for the fifth time.
Last week, Jayalalithaa's party emerged victorious in the state assembly elections, but with a narrower margin than five years ago.
Her AIADMK has won 134 of the state's 234 seats, while the DMK, has bagged 89 seats. Its pre-poll partner the Congress has won eight.
