Ranchi/New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the young voters to turn up in large numbers as the third phase of Jharkhand assembly polls is underway on Thursday.

Voting in 17 of 81 seats is underway.

The Prime Minister tweeted in the morning, "The third phase of Jharkhand polls will take place today. Urging all those whose seats go to the polls today to vote in large numbers. I particularly urge my young friends to vote."

In Jharkhand, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting this assembly election solo while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are fighting the election in an alliance.

The first and second phases of polling were held on Nov 30 and Dec 7 respectively.
