J&K: Burqa-clad terrorists throw grenade inside Baramulla wine shop, kill one, injure three

Srinagar/IBNS: One person died and three others were injured after burqua-clad suspected terrorists threw a grenade inside a wine shop in Baramulla town of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased man has been identified as Ranjit Singh, who was a resident of Rajouri.

The 35-year-old was working at the newly opened wine shop in the town.

The condition of one of the three injured is stated to be critical. They have been shifted to hospital.

The wine shop where the attack happened is located right next to police and security forces facilities in the Dewan Bagh neighbourhood area of Baramulla.

According to police, at around 8 pm, two terrorists wearing burqas and riding on a bike stopped near wine shop and then dropped a grenade inside and eventually fled away.

"Terrorists lobbed hand grenade inside a newly opened wine shop in Baramulla. O4 employees got injured. One among them succumbed to his injuries. All are from Jammu division. Area cordoned and search started to nab culprits," the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The three other injured employees have been identified as Govardhan Singh, Ravi Kumar and Govind Singh.

The police have cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway.

This is the second major attack in the Valley after the targeted attack on the Kashmiri Pandit employee on Thursday.
