J&K student detained by police, misses exam
The detained student was identified as Jibran Nazir.
The student was later released.
“When I reached college, Jammu and Kashmir Police party of Special Operation Group headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police stopped me just outside my college gate and asked me to show identity card. I could not show it. The police officer demanded my identity card. Later, I show them my admit card which was downloaded by me from the Kashmir University's website," he told IBNS.
“They did not listen any thing from me. Other present cops heckled me and bundled me into a police jeep and took me to a police station in Baramulla,” the student said.
Meanwhile, senior police official in Srinagar told IBNS: "It was unfortunate that our officer(s) barred the student from appearing the examination."
“I will look into the matter,” said the officer.
