J&K: Three terrorists killed by security forces in Kulgam encounter

Srinagar/UNI: Three militants were killed by security forces in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Kulgam on Friday, a police spokesperson said.

He said the troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint CASO at Nagnad in Kulgam in the wee hours of Friday.

However, an encounter ensued after security forces were moving towards a particular area after sealing all exit points, he said.

So far, two militants were killed, the spokesperson said, adding that operation was going on when the reports last came in.

Update: Three terrorists have been killed in the encounter, confirms officials.

Meanwhile, additional security forces and police have been deployed in the adjoining areas to maintain law and order.
