Kanpur train accident: Death toll crosses 120

Kanpur, Nov 21 (IBNS): The death toll in the train mishap which occurred on Sunday close to the Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh has crossed 120, media reports said.

The Indore-Patna Express train jumped the tracks and left 200 others injured.

Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday visited the accident site.

The incident took place around 3 am close to Kanpur city at a place called Pukhrayan on Sunday.

Both Indian Army and the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) personnel have been deployed in the area to carry out the rescue operations.

The train, carrying more than 500 passengers, jumped tracks when most passengers were sleeping.
