Bengaluru, Feb 15 (IBNS): Security was beefed around Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail on Thursday as supporters of Sasikala began arriving in large numbers, media reported.

On Wednesday, following instructions of the Supreme Court in the disproportionate assets case, Sasikala surrendered to the Bengaluru jail authorities.

She has been allotted a small cell that she has to share with two other women prisoners, media reported.

According to local media reports, Sasikala will have to make candles or agarbathis during her stay in prison for which she will be paid Rs 50 per day for her labour. There is no off day.

VK Sasikala, whose dream for the post of Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister was cut short by the court order scored a victory even in  defeat as her protege E Palaniswami is set to form government on Thursday following an invitation by Tamil Nadu Governor.

Governor C Vidyasagar Rao invited Palaniswamy, who had never been in the fray for the top post, to form the government after meeting him along with four MLAs at the  Raj Bhavan.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held  at 4 30 pm on Thursday.

A vote of confidence to prove Palaniswamy's majority will take place in 15 days.
