Karnataka: BJP selects Avinash Jadhav, son of BJP Umesh Jadhav, for Chincholi Assembly by-polls

Kalaburagi, Apr 27 (UNI): BJP has selected Avinash Jadhav, son of Dr Umesh Jadhav for Chincholi Assembly seat where by-election is slated to be held on May 19.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Saturday, Dr Umesh Jadhav, who quit Congress and contesting on BJP ticket for Kalaburagi Lok Sabha seat, said that the Core Committee had earlier selected his brother Ramachandra Jadhav, but since he is not keeping good health, the decision was changed and Avinash was selected.

The Chincholi Assembly seat fell vacant following resignation by Dr Umesh Jadhav.

Replying to a question, he said that he had never opposed 'Dynastic or Father and Son' politics. the party decided to give ticket to his son Avinash Jadhav because ' he was winnable ' candidate.

He said that Avinash will file nomination on Apr 29.
