| @indiablooms | Aug 25, 2020, at 09:22 pm

Karkala/UNI: A fire broke out at a cashew factory in Kukundur area near here, reducing the entire factory and two trucks into ashes.

Police said on Tuesday that the fire started at midnight on Monday at Maruti Industries.

Workers sleeping nearby immediately called the owner of the factory and also alerted the fire service.

Due to cashew skins and oil being stocked in the factory, the fire spread very quickly.

Three fire service personnel arrived at the spot but were unable to fully extinguish the fire.

Owner of the factory Prakash stated that approximately Rs 1.5 crore was lost in the fire.

A case has been registered at Karkala police.
